Raaaaats. :-(.. They have really been giving us a hard time on our farm over the past few days.  I have been wondering where they came from in such large numbers but i have finally figured it out . My hunch was correct. My neighbors farm had been left untouched for so many months now and the bush that was in his 7 acre piece of land was no Joke… “wacha tu”… From shrubs to grass to weeds , etc.. Name it.. All this was growing on his 7 acre piece of land which is right next to our farm and we all know that this is actually a perfect habitat for rodents , especially the rats.

Recently , one of his friends approached him and requested if he could bring his cows to graze on his large parcel of  land. We all know that rats don’t like any noise , movement and they like remaining hidden. when the cows were brought to graze  , they decided to seek refuge and happily relocated to our shamba to hide in our rosemary bushes. Not all relocated of course but quite a number. When you happen to walk past a rosemary bush.. baam!!There goes Mr and Mrs Rat….

Of course we have to look for a natural way to deal with the rats and as always our first solution is to  research about it. So we purpose to put traps and plant lots of onions to keep away the rats to avoid them from destroying our food. Wish us luck !! … sigh :-(.. On the positive side , these rats are beautiful..lol.. yes you heard me.They are not as scary as the black ones… These ones are brown in color and their body is covered in black and yellow /white  stripes( cant quite recall the colors well because i only get a glimpse of them). I had never seen such a breed before but anyway they got to go. 🙂
